Game Mechanics

Star Trek offers players battles in space on the Enterprise. The screen is divided into three parts:

• the upper left part displays information on the vessel;
• the upper right part displays a mini-map showing the position of enemies and space bases;
• the lower part displays space, aliens to be eliminated and space bases to be laid.

The game offers a panel of four buttons, allowing to control photon torpedoes, phasers, distortion engines and pulse reactors.

Like Space Tactics, Star Trek is one of the first shooter games to the first person where the screen moves entirely to follow the player's target.
