About game
Game Mechanics
The player moves his troops to the U.S. card areas. The game is divided into two phases. 1 consists of moving his characters in turn on a map of the United States. The second in real time depends on the action previously performed. There are three different ones.
- A fight, which comes when Southist troops meet Northist troops.
- A horizontal scrolling grip, when a character wishes to take a city containing an enemy station.
- A horizontal scrolling train take, when a character is on the railway line connecting 2 enemy cities, and it is pay day for the enemy character.
Then come the tower of the enemy that takes place exactly like yours.
Each state corresponds to an area that, once visited, is marked by a flag of its camp. The more states with an allied flag, the sooner the money will go into the safe at each end of the turn and the sooner new units will appear. The goal is to take a maximum to have a large army and to destroy the enemy more easily.
The armies are made up of several units that have their own characteristics on the battlefield:
- Infantry: very mobile but very slow. Can shoot straight ahead.
- Cavalry: moves very quickly, but can't go back. She must attack the body.
- Artillery: moves up and down and pulls cannonballs.
In detail the different play phases:
- Combat: When two enemy troops meet, there is a battle. The latter goes in real time on a view from above. The aim is to destroy all the opposing troops, to proclaim the retreat or, in the event that there are only guns left to it, that they no longer have calves. Players can choose at any time which unit they want to control. So we will send the cavalry to the enemy infantry and use the cannon as a support.
- Strong grip: This action occurs when a player lands on an enemy state containing a station (marked by a red point). The action takes place on a side view and consists in bringing his character to the end of the fort to know to the extreme right. The course is sown with boilers. Chariots, dogs, bombs and other soldiers will only slow your progression so as not to arrive at the end in the given time. It is possible to follow the progression thanks to the shoe at the bottom of the screen symbolizing our character. The latter must arrive before the awakening (symbolizing the remaining time).
- Train capture: The latter is similar to the take of fort if it is only the action takes place on a train. It is however more difficult because it is not necessary to fall from the train under pain of losing ground. The goal is to reach the locomotive in order to force the driver to stop and thus steal the money previously intended for the enemy.
