Game Mechanics

Imperium Galactum is a video strategy game that simulates the conquest of the galaxy on a strategic scale. The goal of the players is to develop their population and to exploit the resources of their planets, manage their economy, trade, colonize new planets and, if necessary, confront their competitors in space fights. The game takes place in turn. Each game tower represents a duration of five years and is divided into four phases. The first allows the player to trade, especially to supply his troops with food. These foods are produced by colonized or independent planets, which nevertheless retain part of their harvest to feed the local population. The second phase is devoted to production. Players first recover the product from their mines and then, depending on their production, can decide to launch the construction of spacecraft or galactic bases, develop planets or launch technological research. The third phase is devoted to negotiation and diplomacy with other races, human or alien, of the galaxy. Players can negotiate agreements with other players or with independent planets. The last phase is devoted to military operations and allows players to move their ships, take a position on a planet to colonize it or to trigger hostilities against another player.
