Game Mechanics

Dans Field of Fire, the player commands the American troops and faces the German soldiers controlled by the computer. The game simulates tactical fights and therefore focuses on small parts of wider confrontation. Eight scenarios and a campaign are offered in the game, the player who can choose between three different difficulty levels. Each mission puts the player in charge of a squad composed of 20 to 30 men and assisted by some tanks. Each round begins with an observation phase in which the player can consult information about his troops. The player can then give orders to his units: first for attacks, then for travel. When all orders have been given, the program executes them and the player can then watch the troops move and pull. The controls are selected with the joystick or with three keys to the keyboard.
