Game Mechanics

Halls of Montezuma is one wargame which simulates, at the operational level, key battles in the history of the United States Marine Corps. The game offers eight scenarios, each with several historical variants that determine the starting conditions. The first is devoted to the Battle of Mexico of the American-Mexican War. The second retraces the Battle of Belleau's Wood, the first commitment of the American troops of the First World War. The following three are devoted to the Second World War Pacific War, including the Battle of Iwo Jima and the Battle of Okinawa. Two other scenarios are devoted to the Korean War and the last to the Vietnam War. It relies on the engine Battlefront (1986) and Battles in Normandy (1987) whose system is almost identical.
