Game Mechanics

The player takes control of Roderick Hero whose purpose is to rescue victims trapped at the bottom of a mine formed of a well-dealed maze. It is equipped with a backpack with propeller that allows it to plan, a laser rifle and a supply of explosives. The backpack has a limited amount of power, forcing the player to reach the miners before exhausting the power supply. Some passages are blocked by collapses that require the use of explosives but their number is limited and you have to move away at the time of the explosion. The mine is populated by spiders, bats and other deadly creatures to the touch. They can be destroyed with laser or dynamite. Lanterns illuminate the mine but plunge parts into darkness if they are cogted. Finally, some areas flooded at the bottom of the mine are fatal. The points are marked to each creature and each collapse destroyed, during the rescue of the miners as well as for the remaining amount of energy in the backpack and the number of unused dynamites. Roderick gets a life every 20,000 points.
