Game Mechanics

The gameplay is very similar to the original game Gauntlet, supporting up to four players simultaneously. The greatest difference of this opus is that players can choose identical classes instead of being limited to one in particular among the four predefined, each player distinguishing himself by his color. The game introduces so-called "It" levels in which a player who has touched an enemy is designated to attract all other enemies to him. The only way to free this curse is to touch another player or take the exit. Other notable additions include ricocheting shots, acid flacks, invisible walls, fake exits or walls that turn into objects or monster when you touch them. Some quests give access to a secret room that contains some food and all kinds of magic potions. This opus is also the first to use the main musical theme of the series, the simplified version of a baroque fugue.
