About game

Game Mechanics

The game comes in the form of an action-RPG in a 2D diving view. The player can move the hero in four directions using the directional cross. The A button allows to hit with a weapon and the B button allows to use a spell or object previously selected in the inventory. The player must travel the world, talk to the characters, perform quests or find objects to advance the script. Infested dungeons of monsters parse the adventure.

The game includes many RPG mechanics. At every blow on an enemy, the hero wins a number of experience points that depend on the strength of the enemy in question. After a predefined sum of acquired experience points, the hero gains a level. At this point, the player can decide to increase one of the four characteristics of the hero (as long as the disparities are not too large), allowing him to choose in part the way he will play afterwards. The hero has various equipment. Armor parts or weapons can be purchased in villages or found in dungeons. The interest is to acquire and equip the best weapons and armour to increase the power of his character.

During the adventure, the player will discover six types of weapons (sword, star, scourge, axe, faucet and spear) and can learn eight magical spells, usually guarded by bosses. Each type of enemy of the game is more or less resistant to each type of weapon or offensive spell. Some weapons or objects obtained during the course of the adventure allow you to pass previously insurmountable obstacles (the pit allows to destroy the rocks, the axe allows to cut the trees etc.), obliging the player to observe the decors and return to old areas in order to progress.

The inventory of objects, accessible via the menu, allows to store various objects including care objects increasing the points of life or regenerating the points of magic, keys allowing to open the closed doors of dungeons or unique objects essential to progress.

One of the features of the combat system is the integration of a gauge at the bottom of the screen simulating the power of the attacks. This one fills up when no blow is carried. The higher the gauge, the stronger the blow. When the gauge is full, the hero launches a very powerful special attack that depends on the type of weapon being carried.

During certain sequences, a non-player character, automatically controlled, accompanies the hero and helps him progress, helping him face his enemies and providing him with help.

  • Heroin: Do not fight and slowly treat lost points of life
  • Bogard: sword fight and gives advice on the optimal use of weapons
  • Red Mage: throws fireballs and gives advice on the use of the pike while helping the poison.
  • Watts: Fight at the axe and offers to buy equipment
  • Amanda: fight at the dagger, and free the hero of the petrification
  • Lester: fight to the bow and can change the music of the game
  • Chocobo: don't fight; If the hero climbs on his back, he can move at high speed and does not get hurt by opponents. Later in history, he is able to walk on the water.
  • Marcie: send rays and restore magic points
