Terminator 2: Judgment Day is a classic 2D platform game, in which the player embodies the terminator T-800 model 101 in different levels retaking the footage of the film (motor environment, bar, motorcycle chase, psychiatric hospital, cyberdyne systems seat, and foundry). In the first level, the player fights naked against humans armed with sticks. In the second level, he played the Terminator on his bike, trying to escape the T-1000 in his truck and ended up finding John Connor. This one makes him promise not to kill anyone. In the third level, the terminator is armed and pursued by guards armed with sticks, then by the T-1000 at the end of the level. the goal is to find access cards, hidden in the various parts of the hospital to access the lift. You'll find Sarah Connor. The next level is to destroy the cyberdyne systems building using explosive charges that you will need to find, regroup on the top floor, and then place them in the places indicated in the given time. The last level makes you progress in the foundry. Your only enemies are lava, steam jets and the T-1000 you will face three times. The last confrontation in which you must push it into the lava marks the end of the game. If the player does not kill humans at different levels, it will be rewarded with a new weapon.

Ocean Software edited the game on Amiga, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, Commodore 64, DOS and ZX Spectrum in 1991. This version offers different gameplay phases inspired by the sequences of the film: motorcycle chase race in the sewers, fighting between the T-800 and the T-1000, a sequence of run and gun and various puzzles to solve.

The Game Boy version was released in 1991.

The 8-bit version is a set of platforms/action with 3D isometric phases to Paperboy. The Game Gear version was released in 1993.

The Mega Drive and Super Nintendo version was released in 1993.
