About game

Game Mechanics

Several game modes are available, including 3 on all supports: Tournament (tournoi), Free Play (free course) and Time Attack (race-la-montre). The game uses force return.

In the game mode Tournament, the player chooses podracer and take part in shopping. Depending on its final position, the sum of money collected differs, but also depending on the level of difficulty chosen; Fair or Skilled (the first four harvest a sum of money) or Winner Takes All (only the first wins all the money put into play). If the player finishes among the first three, he unlocks the next race and, in some cases, a new vehicle (the favourite of the race). Conversely, if the player does not finish among the top trio, he can play the race again in order to unlock the next race and the podracer but he can't win the money anymore.

? Free Play, the player chooses from podracers and circuits that he unlocked in mode Tournament. It can change certain parameters of the race, such as the number of laps (from 1 to 5), the number of competitors (from 1 to 12, player included) and the level of opponents. There is no issue in this mode, which allows you to freely explore any corners of each circuit, or to train.

Finally Time Attack, the player must beat a certain time to win the race. The principle is similar to Free Play mode except that. There are no competitors on the track in this game mode.

Courses

There are eight planets where players can run: Tatooine, Ando Prime, Baroonda, Mon Gazza, Malastare, Oovo 4, Ord Ibanna and Aquilaris. These eight planets are in a total of 25 levels; 7 for each category (Amateur, Semi-Pro and Galactic). A fourth category of 4 bonus levels is also present. Each of these levels can only be unlocked by finishing first on the 7 races of each category (the last bonus level unlocking by finishing first at the top 3 bonus levels).

The races vary depending on the difficulty, although the graphic environment of each planet remains the same. There are 4 races on the planets Ando Prime and Baroonda, 3 races on the planets Aquilaris, Malastare, Mon Gazza, Ord Ibanna and Oovo IV, and 2 races on the planet Tatooine.

The race of the Boonta Eve (baptized) The Boonta Classic in the game) is the last of the 21 basic levels, and the last of the "Galactics" levels. This is a fairly faithful replica of the film's race.

Playable characters

Only a few characters are playable from the beginning of the game. The others can be won by winning the races on the circuits where they are favourites. For example, Sebulba is the favourite of the last race in the Galactic category, The Boonta Classic , and can only be released after defeating it on this circuit, ending 1.
