Game Mechanics

3-D WorldRunner contains many elements typical of a vertical scrolling shooter. Players must destroy or avoid defiant enemies with the background. However, most vertical scrolling shooter use an aerial view while 3-D WorldRunner adopts a rear view to the third person.

Players make their way through eight worlds, beating hostile alien creatures and jumping over canyons without funds. Each world is divided into four parts, and the player must cross each part before the countdown reaches zero. In each part the player can hit columns to find beneficial objects or not for the character (called power up). In the status bar at the bottom of the screen you can read:

• Player score
• the remaining time
• the number of stars recovered by the player
• the number of lives remaining
