Game Mechanics

The player has 2 puyos pieces (blobs, drops or beans) whose respective colours are random. It is possible to turn the parts on themselves and move them laterally. Puyos stick (vertically or horizontally) between them if they are of the same color. We have to assemble at least four of them to disappear. The game respects the laws of gravity: blocks that no longer rest on nothing fall. This gameplay element makes it possible to eliminate several clusters of blocks in a row (strings or combos), which is much more scored. As in Tetris, the game accelerates gradually, until the player loses when the coins come to overflow at the top of the screen.

Unlike his ancestors (Tetris, Columns) the game takes all its interest in duel mode. It is indeed possible to play two or against artificial intelligence. The interest of these game modes is that the longer the strings performed by the player, the more the opponent receives grey blocks (or ojyama puyos which literally means bulky or boring puyos) that come stack on its own lines. It is enough to quickly prepare a link so that the opponent is submerged by a wave of puyos.
