Game Mechanics

R-Type is one shoot them up horizontal scrolling. It has brought important innovations that have been repeated by other games of the genre:

• the additional module with optional weapons;
• the "load shot" or "beam", shot at variable power according to the pressure time on the shoot button (note that some console versions proposed a normal shoot button and a quick shoot button).
