Game Mechanics

Silent Service offers three different game modes: direct action, campaign (with several difficulty levels), training torpedo launch.

The game allows you to manage some of the functions available on a submarine: use the periscope with different zoom levels, throw torpedoes, climb the bridge and use the twins, manage the engine speed, dip or climb the submarine, view the damages of the hardware.

Thus, in campaign mode, the player must manage the movement of his submarine using his card. The radar must be checked to detect the presence of enemy ships. The player has the ability to accelerate or slow down, dive the submarine to avoid being detected. When a convoy is in sight, it is necessary to monitor the enemy fleet using the periscope, try to approach with a suitable angle of attack, and finally pull a torpedo; it is then advisable to dive and cut the engines so that they are not spotted.

At the end of a game, the game shows a summary of the sewing boats as well as their total tonnage.
