About game

Game Mechanics

The game consists of 144 announced levels, but over the Melinda levels announces that there are additional levels. This is how in the end there are 148 levels in the original version and 149 in the Microsoft version.

The game consists of moving a small character named Chip McCallahan (often abbreviated Chip) into decors consisting of different walls, monsters, electronic chips, keys, buttons, doors and other special cases.

Chip can be directed with the directional arrows of the keyboard or with the mouse. The goal is to pick up a number of electronic chips to open the socket and get to the output to move to the next level.

Levels can be jumped by entering the right password of 4 letters. The PC version automatically saves the game progress. On the Windows version if the player presents a lot of difficulties with a certain level, the game automatically proposes to move to the next level.

The progression of the game is not simply measured in terms of completed levels, but also in terms of scores. A player's score is the sum of the levels scores. To have a good score at a level, it must be completed in few attempts, more so if the level is timed, to be fast gives a better score.

Levels

Although the same rules apply for all levels, there are several categories. Some are action-oriented, others are oriented puzzles. Some levels, but not all, have a given time. Level categories include:

  • Push blocks to certain positions similar to sokoban
  • Avoiding creatures moving in a variety of ways
  • Finding its way through a labyrinth, it can take several forms such as visible or non-visible walls, motionless creatures, ice floor etc.

The first 8 levels are called "Lesson n» with n The level number. These are levels of learning like tutorial.
