Game Mechanics

At the beginning of the game, players can choose either "Exhibition" or "Tournament". A "Exhibition" part is only a part played against the computer or another player. A "Tournament" part is similar to the NHL playoffs. To begin with, the player faces the other teams in a tournament similar to the playoffs. The team that wins all opposing teams wins the Konami Cup.

The battles in the game come every time two players go through three times in a row without hitting another player. The fight appears on the screen and the players take control of their players. The loser receives a penalty and is sent to the penalty bench (the winner is not sanctioned). If a fight takes place near one of the nets, the referee may break the fight and call a penalty shot.

During the second round, one sees appear on the screen either a video game to which player 1 can play, or an advertisement by Konami featuring a bear pulling the puck in a net overlooking the words "Nice Shot!" The video game is modeled from an old arcade game, Gradius, in which a small spaceship tries to destroy a larger ship.

If the score is zero at the end of the game, a shooting (similar to a shot of punishment) is used to determine the winner. Each team receives five shots. The team scored the most goals after five shots is the winner. If, after that, the game is still equal, each team continues to have a pitch until a winner is determined.
