About game

Game Mechanics

General

The player has two keys of attack to the body and one key to combine with the directions to form various creations based on canvas: boxing gloves, projectiles or protection domes.

In accordance with the powers shown in the comics, Spider-Man adheres to the walls, moves with canvases, throws them on his enemies and has a special meaning warning him of danger.

The sequence of the game, faithful to the spirit of the comics, is full of characters whose appearance, although not influential in the script, brings background to its universe.

Spider-Man faces his most popular enemies, and the most recurring secondary characters in comics make an appearance.

In the original version, the introductive voice-off of the tutorial is that of Stan Lee, creator of the character.

Over the levels the player can pick up emblems to fill his or her health gauge or canvas, but also to make Spider-Armure appear, extension of the lifebar. In some levels, emblems also give a special ignited canvas, more effective against symbiotes.

Comics-shaped items are also to be found. A little better hidden, they give access to the sheets showing the cover and summary of an important number in the character's career.

Cheat codes are also available, used to unlock elements of the game earlier in the game but also to unlock special elements, such as debugging information displayed in play, a big head for Spider-Man or J. James Jewett character replacing J. Jonah Jameson in the level of his rescue.

Finally, alternative costumes are to be unlocked, some of which offer bonus powers (invisibility, invulnerability, unlimited canvas, force increase). The powers of some costumes, they, can be considered malus (number of canvas cartridges reduced to 2).
