Game Mechanics

WCW Nitro was basically a game for Windows 95. It uses a game system similar to that of WWF Attitude. To make several shots, the player must make several button combinations on the controller. Some of these are simple combos to 2-3 buttons for basic movements, hiptosses and others Batterydrivers. But once you start using more powerful sockets, such as finishing, combos become long and painful. There is a limited game type (single, team, tournament) and no possible modification for these games, meaning that each of these matches are standard games.

There is also no mode season, no possibility of creating a wrestler. WCW Nitro still wipes these gaps with its huge list of characters. The player can choose between sixteen initially playable characters, as well as some others unlockable in mode Tournament; these go from wrestlers like Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho and Steven Regal to WCW commentators and some fictitious characters representing the developers of the game. WCW Nitro Also includes a wide range of arenas and rings. Monday Nitro is the standard arena but players can choose others as Halloween Havoc, The Great American Bash and Souled Out.
