Game Mechanics

The player controls a spaceship named Opa-Opa (assembling an egg shell with wings) responsible for bringing peace into the Fantasy Zone. He can shoot straight lasers in front of him and drop bombs. The main goal is to destroy ten heavy enemies represented by red points at the bottom of the screen. The game takes place in horizontal scrolling, but it is quite possible to turn around. By joining the balls marked “shop», it can buy various improvements (extra life, more agility, more powerful weapons...) thanks to the pieces that enemies let fall. Traditional bosses conclude each level.

Unlike most other games like, Fantasy Zone does not take place in a futuristic universe or in a universe inspired by the wars of XXcentury. Fantasy Zone takes place in a world with acidified colors, with very colorful decorations and soft shapes.
